I grabbed these the other day. They look like polished stone that has been engraved. Are they solid stone or some sort of reconstituted ceramic. If they are stone are they naturally green or have they been dyed?Would they be modern home ware style or something more interesting? Looks like the base of one has been machined. The floral one is about 15cm tall and the other one 20cm.

I believe the technique is called Sgraffito. The vase's form and decoration suggest an asian contemporary piece to me but hopefully others can confirm or correct me.

Not sgraffito. It is more a relief carving -- carving out the design from the surface. Sgraffito is "scratched" in design. I don't know what the body material is. Are they heavy?

Yes. As heavy as stone.

foreground/background, sgraffito is the design etched into the background while the relief carving is etching/carving the background away.
