I bought two new pretty pieces to upgrade my costume jewelry travel jewelry. I am unsure about the stones, so I thought I'd ask.

    1. WEISS Mark on 16 inch necklace with green stones and accents. My guess is peridot and rhinestone. Is this correct.

    2. Kramer 7-inch bracelet. My guess is opalite and rhinestone.

I can confirm that #3 is indeed a cat in a light box, probably your light box.:pompous:
A very beautiful Siamese, no less.:cat: Age guesstimate: First decades of the 21st century. I could be wrong.:shame:

I think the peridot are also rhinestones. Lovely colour. Opaline glass on the bracelet.

    Very fine Siamese.

Thank you. I wasn't sure. I suppose that's Riley then. If it is, your age and breed determination are correct. It's a form of warfare keeping her out while I am using it. I should be taking adoring photos of her not some old jewelry.

Excellent. I looked up examples online and they said peridot, but you know how sellers are.

From one fine cat lover to another fine cat owner. I thank you.

    Phew, glad I got that.:D
She is right of course. Besides it is A BOX! Boxes are cat territory.:cat: No matter how small the box, they can squeeze themselves in.:playful:

    Your skills continue to amaze.

That's what she says. I think she is a pest. I removed the bracelet and turned around and there she was. AGAIN!

Fabulous pieces and I love the cat in the light box. So cute! Thanks for sharing that pic.

Pretty sure the Weiss would be rhinestones. I don't believe they used gemstones in their jewelry. That said, Weiss pieces are extremely well made and they were a game changer in the costume jewelry world when they came along.

Love that this is your "travel jewelry".

I also wear costume when I travel. Which is why another member said I was a snob, just like all Europeans.:hilarious:
    I think @Ownedbybear knows who I mean.;)
So Kiko, you are also a snob, and an honorary European.:joyful: But we are both much safer that way.:smug:

I hope to catch you lovely jewel people off guard and make you smile. :)

After you and OBB said this, I checked more and found that you are right - they used rhinestones in well-made jewelry.

I never take the good stuff with me, but I like fakes that look real.

I am energized by your love of jewelry. Thank you for calling me a snob and an honorary European. I don't want to have to lock up my jewelry in a safe, when I'm not in my room. I also want to celebrate the various dinner on tours like the welcome dinner or special occasion dinners with a little style.

Oh, I know who you meant! ;)

I take costume away as well, the only problem is I'd be as annoyed at losing it as with precious metals. Hey ho!
