Does anyone know what this is ? It is signed and at first I thought it said Stone, but cannot find anything on Stone the artist.
Can it be someone else or a Company ?

    Thank You

It looks artisan made & Stone looks like the signature of the artist, although the pottery itself looks like stone ware. How big is this?

    I know it's stoneware, that's what I put on my post title. It's 8 1/8" wide and 4 1/2" tall.

Sorry, I get tunnel vision when looking at computer screens, especially when it's after midnight here. Don't always see what's off to the side. It does look rather like something to make angel food cake in but seems a bit small. Jell-o mold? Would it hold a standard taper candle?

The outer shape looks like a dish ring or potato ring. Maybe you can pour hot water inside to keep a dish warm?

It's part of a stoneware steamer, an old design that probably originated in China, but was "rediscovered" by studio potters in the 1970s/1980s. It is evidently missing the lid, which makes it work as a steamer. It sits over a pan of boiling water, and steams vegetables, etc. through the central tube.
