I think I've figured this one out but would like to know if anyone can confirm. I picked this up at an estate auction for a woman who liked to vacation in the Netherlands. She had a lot of delft items that I thought went too high but I did manage to win this crock. As best I've been able to determine The Sierkan was some type of milk co-op in the Hague. I'm not sure what the HMI stands for but I'd guess some variation on His or Her Majesty. It's small for a crock - measures about 3 3/8" high and 4 1/2" across the top. I'm assuming it's a newer souvenir piece rather than an older crock. Does this make sense? Thanks for whatever insight you can provide. Don

Salt glazed stoneware rather than Delft, which is usually used to refer to tin glazed, being picky. A butter container, probably souvenir sold filled. The HMI isn't referring to any kind of Royal, the term's different in Dutch. Let me have a think on that, it will refer to the dairy.

My brain's woken up. H M is Haarlemsche Melkinrichting.

    Basically, Haarlem Dairy.

Thank you for all the information Ownedbybear! I watched the film - it is only 7 1/2 minutes long. Watching 42 carts leave the dairy was a little repetitive but it picks up a bit from there. Apparently they kept ducks, rabbits, and some other types of birds there besides the chickens. I appreciate your research! Don
