Stoneware Figural Flask Who is he?

    3E3D8095-41C7-4E43-8F38-670A4F21605D.jpeg FF16AD28-6323-49AC-AC32-888EF5898512.jpeg 80AD0A10-BD7C-43FF-94AA-CAB7C8FA8D14.jpeg This 15cm tall stoneware flask is unusual in that the head is unglazed whereas most are glazed.

    Any thoughts on who he is supposed to be. I thought Raleigh or, as he is holding a scroll Shakespeare perhaps.
    He is in the style of reform flasks but not a reform character.

    Any help welcome as always. Don’t think he has a lot of age to him.

    Is that a cap? John Dee is often depicted holding a scroll... although hard to tell if that’s armour or a pointed jerkin...

    I'd say neither of the pyrates, why would they have a scroll? Shakespeare.
