I picked up a few items today, one being this unusual swagger stick. This is exactly 24 inches long and quite heavy. I am not sure what the white carved material is. I have no idea what the metal figure is on the end is, maybe an animal or a face blowing wind? Any clues on this one??

The carved-up white stuff is almost certainly bone, from what I can see. Looks like a lovely little piece!

Yes bone. I think it’s from India,I had a very similar looking sword cane. The brass band was the locking mechanism to pull out the blade.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

The "head?" on top ALMOST looks like it could be a lion, but also looks like there might have been a nice stone or something in the mouth (IF it's a head!!)

Agree, it is an Anglo-Indian (colonial) sword stick. The pommel looks like a lion's head.
See if you can pull the sword out.

The one mmarco found shows the locking mechanism. And I think the part visible in the "lion's" mouth might be the tang of the sword.

Once again, the great wizards of knowledge have proven their worth!! (not that you need to) I took a bit of work, but I got it to open up.

I also think there was a gem or something in that hole on top

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

the crosshatching on the brass ring is an indicator ... that it twists...
and no gem for the lion..... 2mb's pic shows it's made like that to secure the pommel..

@Ranger Rick ...it would be a good addition to my Blades thread !!!;)
    ;)
