I picked these up on my trip to Bury earlier today. The taller one is a little over 20cm. They both have the mark PB80 it would appear.

She looks like a ca 1700 European lady with a fontange headdress to me.

The second one a bell ringer?

I'm guessing they were made in England but maybe they could have walked from France. I honestly thought I'd get an ID on them as they are so distinctive and have initials. Sadly not.

I'd wonder if, oddly, they're American. The way they dated the inside looks like artisan pottery here , and I've seen similar ones. The one skirt looks like it was rolled out on a mat instead of thrown.

Thanks for that. Interesting. I actually found a similar item by an American potter but ruled it out as they passed away before 1980. 1972 I think. I might revisit as it's not set in stone that they were created in 1980. Excuse the pun.

The fontange was also worn by English upper class ladies. Queen Mary II also wore one.
