Stumped by this HUGE bowl.

    I bought this today just because I really liked it. Went over my limit. I paid $9.
    It's Glass. 16 inches across and is backed in a gold finish. Almost like gold leaf laid on the glass. I have never seen anything like it! Anybody have any Ideas? At first I was thinking India......but at precisely 16" I kind of doubt a foreign maker.
    Any information Help or comments appreciated.

    Dragonfly got in first. I've seen lots of similar things of varying quality. They're pretty but too new for me. I think they're the new carnival glass.
