Found this today. Quite a pretty thing. A victorian sugar spoon I think. Not sure why it has holes in because all the sugar would fall through. There is a mark on the back but it is well worn. Length is roughly 150mm.

As whit said, it is a sugar sifter, to sprinkle sugar over something.;) A sugar spoon doesn't have holes.

Oooh nice thanks. Well spotted on the mark. I was hoping someone would get it. There was just enough showing for a clue.

Ahhhhhh. I thought sifter meant something for fishing things out of the sugar like lumps and stray dentures. Thanks for the info.

I'm doubtful that's as old as Victorian.

I remember being given these when you ordered strawberries in certain hotels.

Stray dentures are usually scooped out using a regular spoon. (To be cleaned thoroughly afterwards.)

    20th century, maybe 1930s.

That's what I see too. 1930s, maybe into the 1940s.
