Suggestions needed

  1. Hi all, I have a question for everyone. I'm refinishing this older dresser and I added a couple of onlays and I thought they would stain and match up, but as you see by the pic, that absolutely wasn't the case. The only thing I've used on this surface is Howard's restorer in Walnut. Any ideas on how to get these pieces to match? IMG_20250704_172832708_HDR_AE~2.jpg

    Are you talking about the little medallions? Probably some kind of composite. Don't take stain real well. You might try a furniture marking pen. They are more opaque than stain. Not sure why you added these. Don't really go with the style.
     
  3. Once I looked at it and read your reply, I realized you're correct sir. I took them back off, sanded it all nice and pretty and kept it original. Thanks Brad!!
