    Thanks

    Hi Johndal & welcome to our forum!! :happy::happy::happy:

    I have been collecting Swarovski for 30 years now & have never seen anything like this piece. I looked through my books & did not see anything in them either.

    My SWAG is a candleholder, but I need more photos for a definite ID.

    Can you get us a side view against a plain background? Also a close up side view of the crystal portion. How tall is this piece? What is the mark on the bottom? Swarovski used the block style from 1976 till 1988 & then changed to a swan mark.

    Bercrystal, thank you for help. The piece is 11in high and 5in at the base. It is
    signed “for Swarovski Collection” in block. Also numbered

    SG 00

    This part looks bent out of shape.

    Wondering if a taper candle would fit in the base and through the top ring. If so the wire may originally have only gone up 3-4 inches before it was stretched out of shape.

    I've a vague memory of seeing one of these. There's a bit missing: another container sat in the top ring, for I think a tealight. Or was it a vase?

    Perhaps a display piece for Swarovski ornaments? They do a lot of snowflakes.

    I've remembered a bit more. It's missing an upside down cone in glass that sat in that ring.

    @Johndal

    I found it!!!! :wideyed::wideyed::woot::woot::woot::woot:

    It is a vase. :confused::confused::confused: It was called "Medea" & was designed by Joel Desgrippes. It was originally part of something called "Selection" & was described as a "faceted base with a spiral wire to support the flower".

    It was introduced in 2000 & discontinued in 2004. The original retail price was $315.00. :jawdrop::jawdrop:

    I finally found it in this 3 volume book set I have under "home accessories".
