I assume "Nipon" has 2 p's? Nippon is the Japanese name for Japan and wasn't used to mark china after about 1921. So those symbols have nothing to do with the notorious version.

We need to see the underside of the pot and a closer look at the actual shape of the symbols.

Please always use the full image button on your photos. :)
And always give sizes or at least put something identifiable such as a coin in some of the photos.

    Size would be helpful.
Looks like it is missing a lid.

That is gorgeous, Kristiaan. Didn't you mention in another thread that it is 1930s? Probably the same period as the Nippon vase/bowl/pot.

    Good choice.
I would think older, late 19th century, by the look of it.

During the time frame this piece was made, in the western world, prior to the Nazi party using it, the swastika was a symbol of good luck and was an often used motif.

Fylfot or Swastika are both fine names for the symbol. It is thousands of years old, used by many cultures all over the globe. The symbol can't help that it was abused by a madman and his cronies for a short period of time, neither can the name.
