Featured sweet chinese? ceramic shoe ashtrays

    hi folks

    something i found at a bootsale at the weekend (50p each)
    wondering if they are chinese type shoes or not
    found a few metal type ones online, selling as cigarette holders. some state chinese, 1 states indian
    these are ceramic

    wondering age as well

    any thoughts appreciated

    my folks had a metal pair of those picked up in the Middle East....1970's I think//
    those are kinda cute !!:happy:

    I've not seen the ceramic ones before, only the brass ones from India.
    They do look middle Eastern, but could have been made in China.
    The conundrum of nowadays!

    Most of those shoe ashtrays are from India, Pakistan, and the Middle East, but shoes like these with the rounded front are Chinese. I don't know who first got the idea, but they are always cute.

    Yeah definitely a touch of the cutes about them :)

    Wonder if that's supposed to be a lotus flower to the front ?

    I think it's a peony, also a Chinese favourite.
