This small cup and saucer have a swirled design with painted flowers and gilt. Cup measures 2"h x 2 5/8 opening x 2" base. It is very thin approx 1/16". Painted with roses and gilt used for leafs and vines. No maker's marks. It does have pin pops and pin tip size imperfections. The color is not the most common and have only seen 2 or 3 pieces which I believe were older and marked. French? No idea, but hoping someone might know or point me in the right direction. Thank you.

It might be French. Or it might possibly be Japanese pre WWI. Wait for other opinions.

My guess would be Japanese... but that's just a guess. :)

Thank you. I never thought Japanese. I will do some searching and see what I might find. I kept looking for a similar underside of the cup. Not seen it before and found it interesting. It is not like eggshell, the thiness is nut not the feel. Thanks again.
