Table and chairs - hand painted birds

    Recently inherited this but I know nothing about it or furniture in general. Really well made tabletop. Hand Painted birds. I appreciate any help!

    The table and chairs seem to be a fairly modern import. The top appears to be Malaysian rubberwood. I is a plantation hardwood often marketed under other names and not just from Malaysia. The painting would not be original and probably done by a hobbyist.

    Are you sure it isn't ironwood?

    Not familiar with ironwood that looks like this. This is what I know as ironwood.....

    To me it looks like maple, and probably a replacement for the original glass top. The OP is right however; it's pretty. My guess is those are some sort of transfer, but the hobbyist did a nice job.
