Takahashi or just their style?

i thought I remembered reading they use the screw in type clip but this also looks replaced, kinda.

I see a similar, with the copper feet, listed as Takahashi but I don’t want to just follow the leader. I think I’ve only ever had one real Takahashi and it was a cardinal and that was a few years back.

Opinions please.

Ok, just read they use brads and not screws but this kinda looks like a replacement backing.

 

A casual look on worthpoint shows a number of owls, but the feet are different and carving a bit more quality than yours. There was this one that was listed as Takahashi Style that sold for $24.

I actually sold a Takahashi bird back to the Takahashi family once. It was one the lady didn't have. Wish I could find another dozen of those!

I saw the name on the label - Takahashi and got curious and asked. It's a common Japanese name so it could have been a coincidence, but nope.

It sure was a surprise. What makes it sweeter is I rescued those from a chain thrift who sold them as a lot because they thought they were junk!

Yep! I wasn't 100% sure when I bought them, and one in the box definitely wasn't Takahashi, but checked later and BINGO.
