I am a dummy when it comes to glassware. I collect teapots and got this at a barn yard sale for $2. Is it handpainted? Age? I know there are names for some shapes of teapots, does this shape have a name? Thanks.

Nice! Even without the signature, I think it's done by hand...otherwise I'm a dummy.

I don't know that there is a name for that shape, but it does seem reminiscent of RS Prussia wares. Is it glass? Interesting!

Hand painted for sure. China painting was the hot craft of the turn of the last century. As for the name: Isaiah?

Gotta say, that looks like china rather than glass, hobbyist painted...

Wait, bit fuzzy but the knob looks like it may be glass - perhaps you could post a clear pic of the knob and where it joins the teapot, along with a view of the base...

Please show the bottom. I agree, looks like ceramic, not glass, maybe the bottom photo will help

Will do tomorrow! I don't know the difference between ceramic, china, glass, etc. It's shiny.

I'd bet on porcelain; they usually were.

I never saw a bottom like this on a teapot, and I noticed the lid is also sectioned.

Looks like porcelain to me. Apart from the visual effect, the sectioning would add strength to thin material in the kiln... prevent it from sagging in the heat.

Thanks! Like I've said I am a complete glassware dummy.

I am kicking myself for leaving a silverplated tilting teapot at the thrift the other day, $30. Just googled them.

Nice piece! A hot water kettle, and with the spirit-lamp fortunately still present...

    From a 1900 catalog:
