This is an E. Howard "granddaughter" clock from Boston MA; I'm thinking about 1880. I'd say it's maybe 5 feet (U.S.) tall, faced in walnut. The "ship" and its wave just above the dial move back and forth with each tick.

In this case "granddaughter" is a colloquial term. I'm told that clock people don't recognize it, and that the clock is better referred to as a floor standing case clock, or some such, you get the idea! :)

Anyway, I'm calling on you amazing searchers again. Can you find another, perhaps with more information?

    Thanks as always!

    I didn’t know you were so cute….

It’s great to think that I got an incredible deal. But sadly I think that $5K at most is more realistic.

Grandmother, granddaughter, since neither of these are “accepted” by horologists then I figure we’re free to use them rather loosely!

How about calling her a not-so-tall case clock?

When my mother retired in The early 80s, she was given a "grandmother" clock. It was new but smaller than a grandfather clock. My sister has it now. Don't Remember exactly but I think it was taller than 5 feet but smaller than the big guy.
