Featured Thomas Moran Etching, matted but has tape

I found this awesome etching at one of my local goodwill stores.
It is an original Thomas Moran etching signed on the plate.
page 8 1/2 x 11 plate mark is 5 3/4" x 8".
Appears to be in very good condition except for that it is taped to the mat. i plan on selling it but don't know if i should just leave it as is or remove it, Or just put it in a frame and sell it that way.

The white core mount board looks pretty recent and looks fine IMHO.
Whoever buys it might like it as it is saving them the cost of getting it done. Depends on where you are selling it too I suppose, online or auction or gallery. It’s very nice btw.

I was thinking auction gallery or ebay. second choice would be less percentage taken from me.

 

Have you checked to see if it’s pencil signed under the mat in the lower margin, the plate mark and margin shouldn’t be covered by the mat, buyers want to see as much as possible.

Yes, it is indeed lovely ... I can picture myself walking through the wreckage and that dark cloud moving in .. Joy.
