Featured Thoughts on bust sculpture of an old hippie?

I found this yesterday at the same thrift I found the rotating Coca-Cola sign I posted earlier.
I couldn't make out the last name of the signature & I know more likely than not it's a student's work, but the face is well done, right? (not sure about the veins in the top of the head!)
I see an old hippie - kinda like me, but he has more hair! - does anyone recognize the face?
    Or the signature?
    Any thoughts are appreciated!

I took last pic below with no flash but it still doesn't show the kinda glassy/shiny finish?

Actually the fist ones look more like it actually does - maybe because of setting sun in windows behind me.

the picture without flash, makes it look such a better thing, we can judge its age better without all that glare

wish you'd take more pics without flash ;)

    the bottoms ones great :playful:;);)

Lenin and Paul Mitchell had a love child that grew to older middle age and was then immortalized in sculpture. That is what you have. Biologically it doesn’t work, and timing wise it doesn’t work…but it happened.

I told ChatGPT to make a photo-realistic image based on Journey's bust. It made this guy:

I thought this was George Carlin but google image search says Stephen Papps - a New Zealand actor?

I'm not sure I'd want that guy in my house, looking at me. Watching me. Judging me.

(Sounds like the set-up for an Edgar Allan Poe story.)

I thought of him as well. A man way ahead of his times, gone too soon.

Reminds me a little of the self portraits Robert Arneson did (don't think it actually is J). If you found one of his works, you could put a down-payment on your own Thrift.
Wonder if this was a lifecast with hair, etc added later ?
PS-Carlin,yes indeed-was watching Him on the Smothers Brothers Show last night.
