THOUGHTS ON HAITIAN FOLK ART PAINTING - COLONIAL? DUCK HUNTER w/DOGS

I saw this at a local pawn shop a couple of months ago but when I asked about it the manager told me it was still under pawn (the owner could pay his loan & get it back), but today when I stopped by he told me it was for sale - and sold it to me for a good price.
I don't know if I love it or hate it!
I've only been able to find 1 other painting by the artist RV Auguste; can anyone find out anything on him - or more examples of his art?
This is folk art, right?
Thoughts? Do you like it?

The only reference I could find with that name was something about allowing people to smoke pot in his house in London. Its very charming,but there are a LOT of Haitian artists.
