Thoughts on primitive(?) painting

    Found this at the thrift store, not sure why I liked it - but I did (and still do!). I couldn't find a signature but there is ... something.. that looks like letters or a word/name just under the chin of the 3rd person lower in right side (4th photo) - is that a name?
    On the back there is what looks like a order sticker(?) with the name Stern, Lee. I couldn't find anything with that name under artist - but I did find a Irma Stern - could this be by her?

    PS - I am pretty sure it's a painting from looking at it with a magnifying glass.

    Looks like a souvenir painting to me.

    Latin America, the Caribbean. Anywhere there was sugar cane. It verges on a caricature. Somewhat unpleasant.

    Not that very old given the reverse and I would not call it "primative."
