Thoughts on Thrift Store Find - 2 Unsigned Portrait Style paintings?

    I found these at a local thrift store; they are both the same size & they're both unsigned, but of different styles (I like the first one more, but think the second is better done). Just wondering what your thoughts are of them?

    The first is inspired by Modigliani. Here's another variation of his 1917 painting 'Jeanne Hebuterne with Hat and Necklace' available on the internet.

    I think so - but it's unsigned so I can't say 100%

    The first is a commercial interpretation. Value decorative. The second is a bit more interesting but very possibly commercial as well. And a difficult subject to find a buyer for.

    Commercial you mean they painted them to sell or they painted them for a company/employer who'd sell them?
    Seems funny (to me) that someone who can paint that well didn't sign it.

    We can use "decorative" instead of "commercial" if you like. What I meant was not a work of genuine artistic expression. Just a colorful panel created (likely in China) and sold to hang on a wall.
