I found this yesterday - I think it's beautiful, but I've learned here that I seem to like 'factory art'!
Would like to know your thoughts before I list it
PS - I couldn't find anything on the artist (M. Talcott, right?).
    Is this Impressionism?
    Thanks for any info!

@journeymagazine you can still edit the title to say Renoir instead of Monet.

It lets me edit body of post but not title?
Wow - still can't believe I didn't look before posting (I wrote title when I woke up and obviously remembered name wrong from night before when I looked at it while taking photos)

    Hi,
Your painting is NOT one of those "factory" paintings. Your painting is in tribute to the Artist. I personally do not like "factory" paintings. When I was younger and poorer instead of "factory" paintings, I left empty picture frames all over my apartment. In each of the empty frames I left a printed note in each one saying "On loan to the Metropolitan Museum of Art", some saying on loan to The Victoria and Albert Museum, and others. Some saying on travel tours to San Francisco, and others.

    (actually "in homage");)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Ok, I'm being a little pedantic here, but ... it actually says "In homage to Renoir." I don't see the word "tribute." The two are basically synonymous but there could be shades of meaning that are slightly different.

And journeymagazine asked if this painting is Impressionism. Renoir's original painting was. I'm not sure whether this would be. Maybe in a broad, loose sense. I doubt that the artist was part of the Impressionist movement.

And the sig does appear to say 'M. Talcott"--

I love the notes in the empty frames!
I don't leave empty frames, I just switch out the art, + I'm already out of wall space with all the paintings I have; my girlfriend stopped counting at 157!
And since then I've probably added 15-20 from thrift stores, storage auctions & estate sales - and loss about 8-10 to sales (although I did sell 8 posters + 2 paintings today by craigslist for $475!)
PS - I am going to rotate this one onto a wall this week end!
