    Hello all

Three lovely gold rings i found today. All with markings but im not sure where they are from, age, purity etc

1: coral ring, marked K18 & two other marks i cant read. I think the dark metal is from resizing/repair

2: rose gold malachite ring, im missing some vocabulary to describe the marks

Mark on the second is a lyre.

That 712 on the first might be a size: 7 1/2.

    Beautiful rings, Ratsy.
The lyre mark is an Israeli gold mark, King David's harp. The stone is eilat stone, which contains malachite.

The other mark with the 2 looks like a Dutch weight mark for precious metals. It could have been imported into the Netherlands at some stage, in which case there should also be a fineness number in an oval cartouche somewehere. If the mark is Dutch, the gold weight without the stone is 10 grams.

Sniped me. I've seen the ring done in gold-washed sterling fairly often, but never in gold.

@Bakersgma yes i think you're right, heres another shot of the mark. Not sure of the purity but the colour looks above 9/10k.

@Any Jewelry thanks a lot for the Israel ID, i would have been looking for ages. Cant tell the purity on this one though, rose gold always looks the same to me regardless of purity.

The rings all weigh 7-8 grams each so i cant match it to your Dutch suggestion. I will keep looking

It looks like it could be the mark for 750, which is 18 carats.

I've got it! You can just make out 585 at the bottom of the harp

i see an 8 in the center.....so 585 is my take on the gold..

To me too, in which case I would expect it to be 18K. Maybe this is an incomplete 750 mark?

Ah, so 14k instead of 18k. The shape is confusing, and I couldn't see any numbers.

If you buy 2 more gold rings, will you qualify for a partridge in a pear tree?

I did find a fourth slightly less impressive ring the same day, almost there now.
