Thrift shop oil on canvas, anything interesting or just another bearded gentleman?!

    Picked this portrait up today, not really my cup of tea subject wise but I do think it's quite well done. Doesn't seem to have a lot of age, the canvas appears to be stapled to the stretcher. The sig is hard to make out, looks like Fosei but can't find anything like that. Anything interesting or not so much? :bag::hilarious:Measures 18"Lx15.5"W. Thanks all!

    I think your right on a lot of points

    It's painted in an impasto tecnique

    He's a bit off though, maybe rushed/Unconsidered

    Copy of something ?

    Could well be! As you can imagine, when I reverse image search I get many many bearded oil paintings :hilarious:
