Found these at a local thrift store! Are these early versions? Mark Spitz's?
Why would someone would display these like this?
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

After Mark Spitz's time of 1976. Men's swim caps not in use until later.
This is from hubby who swam against Mark Spitz (and lost).

    Any idea of age?
Can I try to get rid of them … umm, I mean sell them.. by calling them a Vintage Speedo Display?

I doubt the set is any older than 1970s/80s. (I was on my high school swimming/diving team in the late 1970s and the sparkly lycra looks familiar, as does the Ocean logo. And some of the guys did wear swim caps.) However, without looking at the labels, definitive dating is difficult. You could try researching the history of Ocean Swimwear, I don't think they're in business using that label anymore, a *very quick* Google search wasn't helpful. The Speedo cap looks like one of the latex (though maybe silicone?) ones, in use back then but both still widely available today, though the font is a bit different now.
Regardless, without celebrity association (or an interesting print), value is minimal, if any. JMHO.

I certainly wouldn't want it hanging on MY wall, but I guess you could certainly give it a try. I'm always amazed by the stuff that people collect.

For future reference (and something to look out for), eBoo completed sales show that Speedo brand mens swim thongs do very well. They're not really vintage but are discontinued. Whodathunkit!

I've just nearly choked on my coffee. Thankyou journeymagazine for the giggle. The black pair look....ahem....well worn.
That listing title would be enough to make me take a second look :hilarious::hilarious:

    Hi,
I used to wear Speedos back in the 1970s when I would go to Denmark. The beaches there are clothing optional. Several times I did go "au natural" but I sunburn so fast that having a burned butt was uncomfortable.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I honestly don't know what to say about that drawing. The product of a slightly deranged mind space I wouldn't want to visit.
Nothing personal but I can't bring myself to click like!.
