I found this today at a local thrift tore. When I googled ROGY artist a whole screen full of Georges Rogy artwork came up, but the scenes I saw looked nothing like this simple scene.
Then I saw one of his signatures (http://www.findartinfo.com/english/7/0/artist-signatures/page/35549.html) & it looks just like mine!
Is this a Georges Rogy painting?
Has anyone heard of him (I haven't)?
    Thanks all

Subject matter is different than his work which is never good

Also the line that connects from the "o" to the "g" is different when looking at the signature in your link. Yours go straight across while the other loops down

I would have thought the signature was Roger, not Rogy.

Actually, the signature shown in that thumbnail at FindArtInfo looks to us like a pretty good match, but the thing is, we wouldn't be confident that either one is Rogy's sig. Here's something completely different from 1stDibs.com --

But, sorry, never mind the signature, your very spontaneous-looking watercolor looks nothing at all like Rogy's studious, carefully-crafted works.

This is my great uncles artwork. It's an amazing find. Roger Haas was from Tipp City, Ohio near Dayton. He was a founding (Charter Member) of the Ohio Watercolor Society. He was known widely for his works of rural Ohio, Amish country and Maine. Sold many paintings in South Florida. He has won many awards. His first watercolor was completed in Paris in 1945. Truly a great find. His son manages his art gallery and art estate as my Uncle passed away a few years ago. His original works sell for hundreds of dollars.
