When I googled the artist's name after finding this painting at a local thrift store today I almost dropped it! First things I saw were auctions for her works by Invaluable - and then Christies!
The signatures match to me - and this note on the artist fits mine to a tee too:

    B. Prabha (1933–2001) was a major Indian artist who primarily worked in oil, in an instantly recognizable style. She is best known for graceful elongated figures of pensive rural women, with each canvas in a single dominant color.

Please tell me this is one of her paintings? (iy measures 24" x 29")
    Thank you & fingers crossed!

To my eye, looks good. Is the brushwork on your painting similar to this?

Hope yours isn't a canvas print!

That might explain the lack of brushwork.

It's a painting - brush strokes + ridges where paint piled up I can see and feel

Thank you for the additional photos. I think you'd have to do some research to see if she typically used Grumbacher canvases. Speaking of "one"... I see "No One" written on back. Perhaps that's the title.

Oh, dear! I posted what I thought was the original of an art print but now see it's not. I apologize for the confusion -- and thank you for pointing out my mistake so nicely.

@journeymagazine I think you have hit the jackpot.

If its a painting (and it does look like that from where I see) looks like the real deal.
She is a sought after artist in India and her works regularly pop up in Indian auctions.

Here is one of them, you can contact them and check it out if they are interested.

@journeymagazine did you finally end up getting this appraised sold or did you end up hanging it in your house (better option)

We use the big house for storage/estate sales while waiting on insurance settlement and live in the in-laws house - it's hanging in my bedroom for now so no one touches it/picks it up, etc..
Thinking of sending photos to Christie's to see if they'd auction it - unless you were interested?!! :)
