I was thrifting yesterday and very delighted to see tiffany&co on a 6” crystal bowl. It is monogrammed Pfizer, the company that is famous for viagra.
I’ve found the same bowl sold on eBay for $78cad+48 for shipping

I’m looking for opinions on how the monogram effects the value of the bowl, does the significance of the company increase the value, or the monogram decreases the value like with most items?

my bowls in great shape I just need gently clean the dust off it. No scratches or chips or cracks.

    Welcome Thunder.
I would love to see the bowl, make sure you also take good photos of the Tiffany mark.
I wouldn't know the next thing about viagra, but Pfizer is known for a lot of other things as well.;) Did the bowl you found on ebay have the Pfizer mark as well?

This sounds like a corporate employee gift - anniversary usually has the milestone number, though. So could have been for some other achievement or contribution to the department or corporate success that was more widespread. Because it is not specific to a person or event, the engraving may have less negative impact on price someone is willing to pay than otherwise.

Your potential buyer pool is limited to employees or fans of Pfizer who are looking to buy a nice glass bowl.

Maybe the person who buys the intaglio ring posted yesterday might like the viagra memento too?

Although the logo is rather large, since it is inside the bottom and not on the side of the bowl, it may not be that objectionable.

A very prominent Pfizer mark. Nice bowl, but as Aaron said:

My first reaction was "what a lovely bowl, if only it didn't have that LARGE logo in the base". However, knowing how people are, the bowl is still quite nice and could be filled with something decorative and no one would be the wiser about the logo. So for the right price, I think someone would want it. But definitely worth more without the logo. To me that just says "we're Pfizer, and we have enough arrogance to scratch on a Tiffany bowl and ruin it!" My old company used to give Waterford decanters as gifts with no logo and then a small side gift with the logo.

You know I just thought of something right after I mentioned my old company. The senior executives with the big offices had a lot of glass barware (those were the days), glass candy bowls, etc that were displayed decoratively in their offices. Almost all of that stuff was logo'd. It was never meant to be handed to employees as awards, it was simply branding everything in the building (and possibly, making sure less of it was stolen). Forgot all about that side of it.

I am glad that my piece has the logo of a prominent company, and not a mom an unknown brand. But it really bothers me that my tiffany&co find was skewered by the pfizer logo :(

There is a similar bowl on ebay listed as a dolphin wave bowl. Apparently other companies also had their logos done as this bowl is for the Grand Wailea Resort. Starting bid is $9 with a Buy-it-now for $19.95.
