I have my suspicions about this piece. Measures about 10 inches square. Whatcha think? Real or fake?

This is out of my realm, but do a search on, "Tiffany Studios Grapevine" and look at some of the items that have sold at, or listed by, auction houses (not eBay or the like). Most have decent photos of the pieces. I have yet to come across one that has a raised sloppy looking mark like this one has.

The "V" in studios does tend to be wrong.

Color of the glass is crude too. Tiffany studios desk sets are another way to search:

Thanks for the info. Confirms what I was confirming when I confirmed it wasn't real. It's gonna be interesting too see how much it brings at the auction tomorrow morning.

The authentic ones were made with slag glass, but never that vivid! The Tiffany Studios was imprinted into the bottom with a style No. adjacent. I have never seen one raised like that. The original grapevine fret work was more opulent, more rubenesque...more fluid. Thinking that it is a beautiful piece but not LCT.

Check eBay. I saw a few like that but not sure where it placed the logo and I recall $300 range but I don’t know anything about slag glass being used. I have seen it in Tiffany lamps made by Bradley and Hubbard (arts and crafts)

Tiffany used a lot of cathedral sheet glass ie glass colored like "slag glass" but in sheet form. Looks nice.
