Good morning antiquetrophiliac’s ;) just found and would love to hear opinions on this item that I am considering to bid on(their photos). The lot comes up in a few hours  so timing is critical. They say the receipt was found inside the piece but sure don’t make it legible.

Anyway, win lose or draw I can’t pull the trigger without some additional inputs. I do find the way the mouth cut is interesting.

    H E L P !
    Thanks you :)

What is it being sold as? (The only word I can read on the receipt is "celadon.")

Which it is.;) I love it.:)
It looks old, but I find Blanc-de-Chine very difficult to date, so I can't help.:(
    No cracks, chips?

It does look Blanc de Chine in the photo but the receipt clearly says "Celadon vase."

I don't think so. They're different types of dragons, but both are types you find on moon flasks.

Well, having a senior moment, set my phone alarm to go off 30minutes before the auction and well alarm just went off. Logged in and ….. oooops! :banghead::banghead::banghead: “When looking earlier at all my saved(favorites) the auction was going off tonight. …but I thought all were in tonight’s auction. Huh! All were, though this vase is not for a few more days. Again :banghead::banghead::banghead:. My bad

I will bid when it comes up and let you all know if I got it and/or what the hammer price was.

I guess I was just over anxious, sorry.:arghh:

If I were you I’d write the auction house and ask for a better photo of the receipt and the base/foot rim. They’ll often accommodate if there is enough time. Is it a top tier national and/or international auction house, a high end regional, a ma & pa local? Did they put a date to it? Just curious. It’s a nice thing but doesn’t feel older than 19th to me and quite possibly a decent bit newer. The mouth and face details are a bit lacking I’d think for earlier. The claws are nice. Well made whenever it’s from. I’m far from even remotely trustworthy in the area but just two cents.

Also you probably know but “they” are very much faking receipts, stickers, and other provenance on this type of thing. I bought a piece with a fake sticker on it once. The sticker was from I believe a Japanese or Korean antiques gallery. One that was known to informed westerners that collect Chinese porcelains. One that once I did research on I was encouraged that my piece might be authentic. It was not. Just relaying my experience, not speculating your moon flask isn’t right necessarily.

I love the dragons on this piece @mmarco102 :) I wouldn't know old or new with this of type of ceramics, but there is 1 listed on ebay for a hefty price (to me) - maybe a reproduction of your piece? No info give on age, just says from a collection.

Thank you for posting this. It gives me all the reasons in the world to give pause on this lot. I’ll pass *thumbs up* :). And for various reasons too. I’m putting it vintage at best.
    Thanks all

Probably made in the same workshop. There are bound to be more out there. I wouldn't mind finding one for a nice price, but won't get my hopes up.;)

Oh well, so anyway, the auction that did go off last night granted me 3 wins. No real mystery here. Well with a small exception to the origin of a candlestick that just speaks to me “One Classy Lady :D”. No questions here just want to add them. One thing to note is, either I have no taste or no one was following the auction as everything cost me bout $12(including fees and taxes).

first we have for $1 listed only as “antique print”
-Dance in a Tavern, 1652(no I am not in anyway saying this one is 1652 :hilarious:), but the edges seem a bit old, so hopes for some age.

Next lot was two smaller prints, listed the same.
    -The Young Mother, c.1660 (left)
    https://emuseum.mfah.org/objects/132509/the-young-mother?idx=712
-Mother and Child with Peasants in a Tavern, c.1660(Netherlands)
    https://collection.sdmart.org/objects-1/info/1483?query=currentlocation = "@galleries@" and disp_obj_type = "etching"&sort=7

Interesting to note that the dimensions in all three match the records at museums. I’ll assume they were purchased from gift shops from museums(hopefully not to recent).
    IMG_3917.jpeg

…and finally my elegant lady candlestick, which I have no clue about but I just had to bid a whole $5:woot:. I was thinking wood but there is a hole in the bottom.

    IMG_3915.jpeg

To be picked up locally Saturday
…and so with three more item I kind of have no use for to fill my home, I smile. :wacky: ….:)

Been watching this vase for about 6 days with my opening bid with no change. Immediately after posting here I have now been out bid 4 times yesterday.:banghead: Coincidence? Ehh!

    lesson learned.
