Tiny metal photo frame, what age is it?

Hello all, happy Friday! Picked up this tiny frame (2.4"L x 1.4"W) as part of an auction lot, hoping you can help me with the age? It looks Victorian but I know there are many eras of repros and revivals so would appreciate some clarification. There is a marking on the back but not sure what it is. Thanks as always!

Mark looks like it was done with a pen and ink so may not be related to the manufacture at all. Any other marks? Does seem to have some age to it. If not Victorian, probably not all that much later. Could be silver even without proper silver marks. Small silver items were not always marked in many countries.

    Where is the marking, Elen?
That is a problem when trying to date these cuties, without marks we're in the dark.
I have a silver Rococo Revival photo frame roughly the same size as yours. It has a post-1953 Dutch sword mark, so not nearly as old as it pretends to be.;)
Baroque-ish photo frames are still popular in Germany and Austria, maybe other places too.

I can't see any other markings but I could give it a little more of a polish and see. Never thought that it could be silver, I will test it thanks!

Thanks for the info! Oh, the marking is just that handwritten-looking one top left corner that looks like c/z or something. As Brad suggests, may not be related to manufacture :)

Right, thanks.:) Could also be something that was added by a shop or auctioneer.

Polished the heck out of it as recommended :hilarious:. Still can't find any markings unfortunately. Worth a try though!
