Hello friends. Four of these 1 1/8" aluminum or possibly pewter funnels were included in a set of Limoges nut baskets I purchased a while back. I'm sure they didn't belong together! One side has a castle, the other a coat of arms. There are no manufacturer's marks that I can see. Each has a loop of red and white ribbon knotted through the handle. The top rim is about 7/8" in diameter. They are light enough to be aluminum but feel more like pewter. Are they for perfume? Salt? Toys? Any help is welcomed and appreciated!

    Thanks, folks.

It is the crest of Nuremberg in southern Germany. I recognize the castle tower too, the funny shaped one in the centre.
Nuremberg is famous for making toys, so it could be a toy/souvenir.

The only funnels that small that I've seen were Perfume Funnels. So that was my first thought. but why they would have the castle and city crest makes me think no.
But it's also a strange souvenir. I guess that I can't fathom someone collecting miniature funnels. But I suppose some people do.
I will watch this thread so I can learn a thing or too! LOL

Perhaps there are people who collect souvenirs of Nuremburg.

I wish the seller had shared where she got her information. "Antique WWI Commemorative Nuremberg 1917 Perfume Funnel"? Nothing on the accompanying card supports that. And Kreiselmeyer wasn't even founded until 1960.

Thank you everyone! I'm still not sure how to price it but I'll be calling it a perfume funnel unless something else pops up.

    You guys are the best!
