When DF608F7F-5292-464A-9F46-C52F4D660501.jpeg I was picking up the 12’, 5400 lb. lathe, I became aware of another machine tool the same company wanted to sell, and again the price was very low. So I paid for it when I picked up the lathe a couple weeks ago, and began planning how to fetch this 5000-lb. sheet metal hydraulic press-brake.

Well wasn’t that bad, we had 20,000 lb. breaking strength ratchet straps keeping the thing from tipping over in the trailer, and chains with a death-grip on the base, although I could see the whole trailer tipping over with a way-too-fast turn. I kept under 55 mph and on turns, about 15 mph.

I got the larger polyester ratchet straps after having one of the 2”-wide nylon straps break during the first use; I’m told they don’t like going over corners and such. The ruler is 18” long; left is the very-widely-sold 2”-wide nylon, right is 4” polyester (doesn’t stretch like nylon) I’m using now.
