    No pun intended.
The globe is ~6 1/4" high, ~5 7/8" major diameter. It was on the lamp when acquired; I have doubts about its origin. The burner is all brass, the wick is 1" X 1/8", never burnt. There are no markings anywhere on the burner; it could be fairly new, or original to the lamp for all I can see. It threads into the brass collar easily. The fount is galvanized steel (at least the floor of it); all seams an' the grip are soldered (somewhat crudely in places...utilitarian workmanship). It has enough age that the fill hole isn't threaded or otherwise splash or spill protected; the cork stopper appears to be well aged. Weight as shown, empty with globe, is ~45 oz; fount dimensions are 2" deep, 10" long, 7" wide; a volume of ~140 cubic inches or ~5/8 US gallon. When full of fuel it would be heavy enough that the grip would be a perilous purchase. There are no indications (oil stains, odor etc.) of use except for the blackened stopper, which shows a bit of red paint on its upper end. The fount sits dead flat on the table; note the beaded rim on the floor, which perhaps serves to keep the lamp from otherwise wobbling.
What can y'all say about this lamp, especially about age, origin, paint color an' decorative design? Thanks for lookin!
