The label isn't complete. The case slides out and then there's a metal tray inside of that. The tray has a wooden block on the end with a container that has dried out red stuff. The back of the case is rough and I'm thinking it was used as a strop and maybe the red stuff was to sharpen the razor? No idea. 12" long total IMG_7370 (800x405).jpg IMG_7371 (800x600).jpg IMG_7374 (800x600).jpg IMG_7377 (800x685).jpg IMG_7375 (800x600).jpg

A cut-throat razor box full of dried out red stuff? Hmmmmm....

Actually, the red stuff looks like jeweler's rouge, a polishing compound, which is in line with its being applied to the strop.

Jeez. I used to make jewelry and never thought of jewelers rouge. I still have a big chunk of it someplace. They had a razor for sale, but it was definitely not the one that came in this box. I get this stuff to resell then my son sees it and wants to keep it. Before he moved back home, I used to make pretty good money!
