    I bought this at auction today. Although I know nothing about treen I felt it was nicely made and well carved.

    I imagine it was made c1900 but can anyone help with an idea of where? I assume it is for snuff but a bit big for a pocket.

    Flower looks like edelweiss so possibly Black Forest carving?

    It is beautiful, John. It is a Brienz carving from Switzerland.
    A lot of 'Black Forest' carvings are actually made in the Brienz region. Switzerland has edelweiss, the Black Forest doesn't.:)
