Featured tres modern expressionist still life

    hi guys found this painting yesterday

    was nearly put off by the date, but i quite like it (and the title)and was under a fiver

    cant make anything of the signature

    amateur hand, or better,

    any thoughts appreciated

    Charlie....I think I see what you see......& I don't think it's crap.......it's kinda growing on me !

    yeah i dont think its crap at all, but i cant explain why :)

    dont really know much about this kind of art, not for everyones taste though for sure

    I like the colors but was wondering if a student work as well. Clues that stand out maybe, it is in an inexpensive hobby store style frame, not signed on the front, bottom corner of the board looks like a piece is cut out. If it was a collected artist, one would expect a better frame since the work was done so recently. Also the signature in pencil on the back is a little unusual for something you'd see in a gallery nowadays.

    Disclaimer. I'm not great with evaluating actual art --sometimes seeing some famous piece and thinking a kindergartner could do it, so I've gotten used to looking at other clues other than the painting.

    Might be hard to find the artist on this one.

    But at "under a fiver" I think you did fine.:)
