Doing a lockdown shed clearout I came across these two pictures.
I bought them from a car boot sale and then thought they were prints and stashed them in the shed. I've just taken the frames off and they are definitely watercolours which is a lovely surprise.
I have no idea if there is a market for these as there isn't much in the way of animal examples on the internet or eBay with sold prices.
Both fairly old as the framers telephone number only has 3 digits on the seal and 4 digits on the mole. Mole has 'Mole £40' in pencil on the reverse and nothing else. Nice to find a surprise when I can't go out treasure hunting!.

Nicely painted. I wonder if there are sea lion collectors and mole collectors out there?! ;)

I am not a mole collector but I think those watercolors are pretty fantastic!

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

They're both lovely watercolors, but I LOVE the seal pup!!!

I love moles, although have never seen a live one. Many of my Zuni 'fetishes' are moles. Mole is the guardian of the underground world. Wind in the Willows probably an influence too.

Sea lion pups do not go white, so think original ID as seal is correct.
