If it was a lamp globe, it would need some way to allow the heat to escape.

At least can someone suggest keywords describing the shape and the bottom pattern? US, European?

To me it looks like some crafter attached a light shade to a plate and the worked the ;lat to make the "feet" I can not get a sense as to how the top and bottom are connected. Glue which a black light should show or heat or????

I’ll inspect for any visible joints unless they are invisible.
So, there is no chance the bowl to have been made as one whole piece?

Weirdly matronly and futuristic at the same time...

Engineered to within an inch of its life (not crafter)

I pray someone will know :angelic:

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Is that a hole in the bottom/top??? If not a hole, is it flat then, can you turn it the other side up, like a rose bowl??

As my dad used to say when confronted with something cryptically complicated, "Very high concept!"

Someone on FB group said they bought identical piece about 30-40 years ago. New from a store in IN but the owner does not remember what kind of store and if there were any labels. Paid about $100, that sounds a lot I guess for that time?

FB glass group. Someone suggested not a bowl but lamp and maker Mazzega. I took me a bit till I find a match. They describe it as a vase but seems like the company makes mostly lamps and so.

Unfortunately, there are TWO on ebay right now, both BIN - $450 and another totally low-balling at $95

But just for reference: Worthpoint 2018 $290

Another version on chairish asking $675 approx
