Tribal Standing Man

    I would love to know what country he comes from. He is 9.5 inches high.

    The style reminds me of tribal figures from the SE Asia region - Philippines, Borneo, Indonesia area - but I can't quite place him. I can't read the writing on the bottom other than what appears to say Mo Mo... Sometimes to read such things you have to hold it at various angles and changes of lighting. Can you make out anything that you can transcribe for us? It might hold the key to origin.

    Here is another image. It appears to say Mo Mop or Momon. The line below it says something like ABIRMA or ADMIRALSH. There is also what looks like an 8 or 9 below that.

    I thought it looked like MOMOA...lots of Jason, not so much any wooden sculptures.

    I read Momon, which is an Indonesian name. And I agree, the style looks sort of tribal or small island Indonesian, but I have never seen one like this.
    It looks like a Nias statue with an afro hairdo and a skirt.:confused:
