Good. Furniture folks often need pictures of the construction details to give their most useful replies.

Great! For future reference, you can attach pics from your computer directly via the "Upload a File" button next to Post Reply. 1MB limit on individual pic files, resizing to 600x400 pixs is sufficient.

Wish I was a furniture person, but fear not, some will be along.

This is not a table that has any attributes of typical antique furniture. It is a homemade project table of some sort. It seems to have some age to it and/or may be made up from old parts.

If I were selling it I'd sell it as "Fantastic Alice-In-Wonderland Tea Table." The name just popped into my head as soon as I saw it, even if there are no authentic AIWTT's. If it doesn't sell soon paint it pink or white, raise price, and try again, same title.

I think its cobbled together too.The bottom almost has a greek revival feel,I d almost want to say a country carpenter might have done this. That top looks like a replacement . Still, its got great lines,id have bought it. :)

Do you think it would look better with a round top?

Not necessarily round, but larger. Give it something for those great feet with the turned up toes to balance. Actually, I'd use an oval, positioned in an H under the oval, rather than an X - that way the feet will show. :)

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Very interesting look with the scrolls on the legs....Love the idea of "Alice in Wonderland" Spring! However, looking on the underside....would those be Powder post beetle holes????....they are hard to get rid of!!! We had a 1672 summer house with original beams full of them....when we restored it (HAD TO!!) the beams spent a winter outside, were soaked in creosote....just went thru the house this summer @ invitation of newest owner.....the little pesks are STILL in some of the beams!!! The GOOD news is that they STILL haven't killed the house :happy::happy:

Thanks, they all seem to be square nail holes and screw holes. The top of the table also had multiple holes in it also. Evidently they had trouble keeping the top on.

I think it would look good with a glass top.
