Trying to identify Bronze Foundy Marks - from Bronze plaque

Discussion in 'Metalware' started by Michael Gittoes, Nov 9, 2020.

  1. I am trying to identify the foundry marks that appear on the base of a bronze plaque that my mother has. Unfortunately, due to lockdown i only have an image of the marks. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Bronze Seal Mark.jpg

it's most probably not a foundry mark but medals won at an exhibition to show the quality of the product.

  5. Thats interesting - i think it looks russian and I am wondering whether it is cast iron rather than Beonze. The piece that you have showed me - is it russian.

    yes. a Samowar.
but these medals were given in many different categories, so it doesn't matter what material your item is.
