Charity Shop silver ring £4, sold as turquoise but I don’t know if it’s more likely to be something else, any ideas please? It’s not glass. It’s not the blue veined turquoise I usually see here in U.K. though I know a lot of it is Howlite and I’m suspicious of a lot of it.

Thank you AJ and Kyra. It will be a nice gift for a friend who wears it, the colour doesn’t suit me at all:(

Given the glassy shine I'm going to be contrary and suggest chalcedony/chysoprase/dyed quartz.

That could be my kitchen striplight.
I’ll take a daylight pic, it’s so dull here today, hasn’t stopped raining for 24 hours.

That's a nice price for the ring. Is the mark inside "925"?

That’s a good tip! The ring is closed in at the back but I did put a light on the raised stone and it’s opaque.

Yes, 925. It’s not often I get a bargain at that particular c shop but once in a while they miss a nice item or underprice.

Yes, that's a good point - not all agates are translucent though, but this should be if it's chal/quartz/chryso
