Hi all. I have this little twig instrument. Hoping someone knows something about it. Someone else had something similar that they're calling an Appalachian tambourine? They said the cymbals are flattened bottle caps. It measures 12" x 5". Thanks for any help at all.

I wonder whether you can go dowsing for water with this as an alternate use. ;)

The Romans would have called this a sistrum.

Maybe. Someone else called it an African rattle.

I do believe these can be found in import shops.
