Two caps - one embroidered, one beaded

    I picked up these two hats yesterday for a dollar each. One is embroidered blue velvet. It is lined and has a label. The other is decorated with designs made of red, green and yellow bugle beads. I believe it is made of multiple layers of wool. It is unlined.

    I haven't gotten anywhere trying to figure out where these two come from. Can you help?

    According to this site "8 Mapta," March 8th, is Women's Day in Russia.

    The style and alphabet look Russian to me, too.

    I haven't been able to make this out completely. The word on the bottom line appears to be Tоржок (Torzhok), which is a town in Russia. It says in this Wikipedia article that Torzhok is known for its "folk craft of goldwork embroidery" -- I don't know what that means... embroidery with gold threads? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torzhok

    The words at the top may be the name of a company or a factory... I'm not sure. I could not get them to come out to any known words in Russian or Ukrainian, using Google Translate.

    Bukharan? Central Asian any which way. Maybe Muslim, maybe Jewish; I've never been able to see much difference.

    A yarmulke is the Jewish cap; these might be Muslim. I'd check before using the Yiddish word, just in case, doubly since no one where these came from speaks the language anyway. :)

    I don't think they're yarmulkes, which are normally done-shaped to fit the curvature of the head.

    Central Asian kippahs are often hats like this too, and have fancy embroidery. I've never seen a beaded one which doesn't mean there aren't any.
