Two glazed red clay pottery pieces with similarities - where from?

I found the basket a couple weeks ago - and thought maybe European(France?)? But I wasn't and am still not really sure. Then I found this cruet/small pitcher tonight(love the colors/glaze treatment on it), also made from red clay, and the base is formed almost identically (small upturned lip that tapers down to to a flat base that shows the red clay but has some glaze on it).

The basket is 10" high and the base is 4" across.

The pitcher is 6" high and the base is just over 2" across.

Ideas where from? Modern asian imports? If so, the base isn't quite like anything I've seen on others, but I've hardly seen everything. Thanks for looking!

    First the pitcher:

I'm in Virginia too. The multi color pieces I believe were sold in Williamsburg (at the pottery I think) and along the Blue Ridge Parkway at gift shops (I believe) so not surprised you found it in VA:). I see the link mentions Stuckeys and while I don't remember the pottery items they sold, I remember the pecan log rolls;).
Edit to add, agree on NC pottery.

Both are definitely North Carolina pottery. The pitcher is usually called a Rebecca jug.
