Featured Two old brooches...what era? material?

    Two old brooches, one is a citrine look glass stone, the other I don't have any idea. I think they are from the same era. I found the citrine one in an old jewelry book, it has a small photo of it but no information other than "brooch."     Often called foiled dragon's breath if it has the blue veil. Glass opals. The citrine colored one is probably 1920s glass. It's in a 20s-style setting but the back looks kinda funky. The setting on the foiled one is 20s too, from the look of it.

    Seems that the pin is pretty short on that one. What is the size, @Jaime Riggs ? Is it small?

    I'm guessing yes; those octagonal ones like the foiled glass below it are usually about an inch across or not much more.
