I purchased these two unsigned paperweights from the reseller, who was parting with his personal treasures. One is completely fun - it has a lady bug on top and the other, is a small, beautiful, millefiori one. I can usually figure out the source (after years of tutelage here) but I need help with these two. Number 1 is the larger (3 inch) lady bug one with a cat paw showing size. Number 2 is the smaller and far more intricate one with one blue cane on the rim. I think this blue cane might indicate the maker. Both have polished concave bottoms. Neither have anything but scratches on the bottom. Thoughts, comments, and ideas welcomed.

The millefiori is Scottish, Perthshire - see the P cane? The blue one.

Bug may actually be early Chinese, as in 1930s.

You are amazing. I haven't had a Perthshire weight. I see the P now. I love the bug might be older. I kept getting conflicting information when I searched. Everything is Murano you know. Thank you.

I knew it was Perthshire, and then saw the cane. I see a lot of them here! Love the wee bug one.

I have a Selkirk, that's as close I have ever been to Scottish paperweights. I was immediately attracted to our lady bug friend too.

Yes. He was giving up 5, but I liked these two the best. The Perthshire one is going into the special weight display case. :) I'll have to move something out.:(

They are fabulous. The bug is very special. You are naughty though, leading me astray into another area of collecting as I’m now surfing the internet for paperweights!

You did a good pick. I'd love to know what else he had. It's those flowers that look old Chinese to me, although the lampwork lady bird is unusual as is the ground.

@KSW - beware, it's deeply addictive! I've not counted mine but there must be a couple of hundred scattered around. My pride and joy is the mid 19th Clichy bought for three quid.

KSW I'm so glad that you enjoyed these. I would be very much in trouble, if I lived across the ocean in the land of fabulous paperweights like you. Here they are rare, and most of them are low quality.

He was a paperweight collector and he showed me some of his personal collection, which made my eyes bugle with envy. Thank you.

19th century Clichy for three quid - are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wideyed::wideyed::wideyed::wideyed::wideyed::wideyed::wideyed::wideyed::wideyed::wideyed::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy: I couldn't find a jealous emoji but jealous, jealous, jealous, jealous, jealous, jealous, jealous, jealous, jealous,
    jealous, jealous, jealous, etc.

Deeply addictive I agree. I only have about twenty five of these fabulous art glass treasures, several costing an arm and a leg because you never see anything really nice here in thrifts and rarely at garage sales. My favorite is my Josh Simpson inhabited world for which I paid full retail price and travelled all over Los Angeles County to find the one I wanted.

Thank you. He is American and married to an astronaut. These worlds are his signature pieces. Currently a mega world 8 inches retails at $9,500.
